Insomnia Relief Self-Hypnosis: Relaxation and Binaural Beats for Sleep

When you can’t get to sleep, after being awake all day, you have insomnia. Insomnia is very common in modern culture and there are tons of techniques, medical and natural, that can be used to fall asleep.   1. Avoid intoxicants. Avoid caffeine and alcohol for several hours before sleep time as they stimulate your nervous system and keep you awake. Same goes for drugs.
  2. Be active. Exercise regularly, especially a few hours before sleep as it relieves stress and makes you more relaxed.
  3. Get a massage. Massage relaxes your muscles and tension is one of the main causes of insomnia. So a good massage in the evening is a great way to release the day’s stress and prepare for bed.
  4. Drink herbal tea. Drinking non-caffeinated teas at night is a great way to relax and warm up your body. Chamomile tea and a tea called ‘sleepy time’ (available in most general stores) are good choices.
  5. Take a warm bath before bed.
  6. Drink a warm glass of milk.
  7. Avoid naps during the day.
  8. Let go of your problems till morning so you don’t stay up thinking.
  9. Listen to some soft soothing music during the evenings to wind down.
