Stop Smoking with Self-Hypnosis
More and more people are using hypnosis (and self-hypnosis) successfully to stop that awful smoking habit. Yet there is a misconception that the smoking habit can be stopped with hypnosis WITHOUT putting in any effort whatsoever. To put it simply, hypnosis doesn’t work if you don’t want it to work. This means you have to genuinely want to quit smoking. If you want to quit smoking because your spouse or doctor wants you to then no hypnosis technique will work for you.

- Fully outline why you should quit smoking and why you want to quit smoking. List all the negatives of smoking. Even list any good points about smoking and write out alternative ways you can meet those good points. For example if you find smoking to be good for stress relief then take up a deep breathing and relaxation practice as an alternative to that ‘good quality’ of smoking.
- Start an exercise program. Exercise helps you feel good, expands your lung capacity (helping you breathe better) and gets you doing something where you simply can’t smoke. Many people find exercise as a great way to take their mind off of smoking.
- Team up with someone who also wants to quit smoking and seek support from family and friends to help you quit. A network of people helping you attain your goal is the best way to keep motivated.
